Philippe Park Family Portraits | Mears Family

There are moments in life that we wish we could freeze in time, and for the Mears family, Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, Florida, was a chance to do just that. The last time I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family, their young son was just a 5-year-old little boy. Fast forward to today, and while Deborah and Erick look literally the same, he has transformed into a tall and confident middle schooler, embarking on an exciting new chapter of his life.

The park, with its stunning natural beauty and serene surroundings, provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the essence of the Mears family's enduring love and connection. The warm golden glow in the tree canopy is such an iconic location. I usually like to start there while the sun is higher so you get that beautiful glow through the trees and then end around sunset at the waterfront, even though the sun doesn’t set on the water here it looks amazing and totally different just naturally and with a little off camera flash.

As we wrapped up the session, I couldn't help but reflect on the beauty of growth and change. I always love hearing how the families I get to work with evolve and change over the years it’s so interesting and exciting. These are just a few of my personal favorite moments with them!
