Shahnasarian Event Hall Wedding | Sarah & Alan
Sarah and Alan, where do I even begin? I know Sarah from the wedding industry, and she is an uber talented custom stationery artist that owns Sarah Bubar Designs. For real, she literally creates a work of art for each of her couple’s invitations! Earlier this year she told me she had a feeling she was getting engaged soon and I was so honored to be the one to capture their gorgeous wedding. Alan is a super talented artisan himself and makes these amazing copper bracelets with patina, which is a term that refers to the blue-green layer of corrosion that develops on the surface of copper when it is exposed to sulfur and oxide compounds. And there you have their color palette! They included copper, teal, and beige throughout all their details. Sarah’s mom, Shirley, is just the sweetest lady and I just love the photos of her helping Sarah getting ready because you can just see how much she loves Sarah and how happy she is for her and Alan.
The Wednesday before their wedding, Sarah texted me and said that her dad, Paul, had what they thought was a stroke and had to have emergency surgery to remove a blood clot. Thankfully, he was already here in Florida from New York and had a successful surgery, but, he was not able to physically walk Sarah down the aisle or officiate as planned. Sarah’s brother stepped in to walk her down the aisle with a phone in hand as she facetimed with her dad so we was still walking down the aisle! Their friend stepped in to officiate and when he asked “who gives this bride to be married” Paul was able to say “her mother and I”. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the room and how amazing that he was still able to be there and do that! Paul had already had written out everything he was going to say during the ceremony so their officiant was able to read his words as they became the official Mr. & Mrs. Dever!
Right by the church at Shahnasarian Hall there was a walk way lined with super tall palm trees that had the perfect light for their wedding party photos after the ceremony. The girls beige dresses and the bouquets full of beige, and different shades or orange roses and greenery look gorgeous. Sarah had seen a bouquet on pinterest that had a super long ribbon and Stephanie, from Stephanie Voth Events totally nailed it! Alan told me his dream car was a Camero and that was the perfect finishing touch.
So many pretty reception details!!! The head tables were farm tables with greenery and teal ties. One of my favorite details were the custom coasters that Alan cut from Maine Birch trees and they had each guests initial in copper patina. Alan also made the wood cake stands and their wedding #happilydeverafter was the cake topper. Sarah told me she would be smashing cake in Alan’s face for sure:-) For the sign in, they had quilt squares for everyone to write a message to them that will be made into a quilt for their home which is such a unique idea. They ended the evening with Sarah changing into a fun white dress for their sparkler exit to that sweet ride. Congratulations Sarah & Alan you are dearly loved and we are so happy for you!!!
